Chocolate Chai Superfood Smoothie
Smoothies are my ideal, quick and easy meal I reach for all year! They can be loaded with nutrients, all while tasting like a milkshake. This one is no exception, and has the cozy adds of (homemade) chai spice and chocolate. It is the perfect between refreshing on a summer day and deliciously comforting, with a blanket and fire alongside each sip. Simple make about five minutes of your day and have just one dish to wash, need I say more?
Ingredients:
- 1 açaí packet or 1/2 ripe banana 
- 1/2 cup (dairy-free) yogurt, unsweetened 
- 1/2 avocado, medium 
- 2-3 cups organic spinach 
- 2 tbsp almond butter* 
- 2 tbsp cacao powder 
- 1 tsp chai spice mix (make your own here!) 
- 1-2 scoops collagen or protein powder of choice 
- 1 cup (dairy-free) milk 
- 1/2 cup ice 
Directions:
- In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients, except the ice. 
- Gradually blend in the ice to create your desired consistency. The measurements above create a smooth, yet thick texture. 
- Pour into your glass of choice and enjoy! 
Notes:
- While making the smoothie, store your glass in the freezer. This will allow it to keep your smoothie cooler and at the initial consistency for longer! 
- You can substitute any neutral nut or seed butter you desire, including cashew or sunflower.
